There are few cities where you can experience as much as in Budapest. In the morning, on your way to a cafe, you can admire the historic architecture and landmarks, for lunch, you can pop into the Great Market Hall, relax in the hot baths in the afternoon, and in the evening, you can head out to the unique ruin bars.

Lovers must not miss a romantic cruise on the Danube with a glass of Tokaj wine, and history enthusiasts will be breathless from the extensive exhibition at Buda Castle, mapping the history of Hungary's settlement.

What you shouldn't miss in Budapest

Dohány Street Synagogue

The largest synagogue in Europe and one of the largest in the world. It is a complex that includes the synagogue itself, a prayer room, museum, archive, Jewish cemetery, and a Holocaust memorial.

Fisherman's Bastion

One of the most photogenic places in Budapest is undoubtedly the neo-Gothic Fisherman's Bastion from the late 19th century. It stands right next to Buda Castle and offers a stunning view of the Danube and the Parliament building.

Vajdahunyad Castle

The castle was originally just a wooden replica of the Transylvanian Corvin Castle from 1896, but it became so beloved by the citizens of Budapest that they eventually reconstructed it using stone and bricks.

OUR TIP

Matthias Church

Matthias Church is not only one of the most beautiful churches in Budapest but also one of the most significant historical landmarks in Hungary. It is located near the Buda Castle on Szentháromság Square and offers an unforgettable experience. The church was built in 1255, and its interior is richly adorned with frescoes, sculptures, and stained-glass windows. Inside, you'll find numerous artistic treasures, including altars and tombs of prominent Hungarian figures. The bell tower offers a view of the city and the Danube.

Matthias Church remains one of the most important landmarks in Budapest to this day.
